FORMER MINISTER OF FINANCE ACCUSES PREMIER OF LIES

24 january, 2020

Ex-Minister of Finance Natalia Gavrilita maintains that Prime Minister Ion Chicu is lying when he is saying that the raising of tariffs was agreed with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) by the Sandu's Government.

She wrote in social networks that Chicu is a "pocket minister, who dares lying".

"The agreement with the fund absolutely clearly stipulates that the tariffs are established on the basis of the methodology and purchasing prices on natural has, which should have lowered at that moment. Since January 1, 2020, they indeed fell to US$173 from US$235 per 1 thousand cubic meters. Is this not a reason for lowering the tariff? It seems that the current Government seeks to find guilty to justify their decisions who strike citizens", Gavrilita said.

She concluded that the Dodon's Government is spreading new lies to explain somehow the raising of tariffs and prices [on gasoline and diesel fuel, on interurban passenger transportation].

Earlier, Prime Minister Ion Chicu said at local television that the Sandu's Government stood for gas growth and this was one of the IMF conditions, which were accepted by the previous Cabinet during the signing of the agreement with the Fund, excluding any growth of prices.
