MOLDOVAN PRESIDENT, IMF MISSION HEAD DISCUSS COOPERATION PROGRAM COMPLETION

President Igor Dodon met with Head of the International Monetary Fund mission Ruben Atoyan and discussed the issues, connected with the conclusion of the IMF-Moldova Cooperation Program. The Fund representative in Chisinau Volodymyr Tulin also participated in the Friday's meeting.

"At the meeting we discussed the issues, connected with the expiry of the IMF-Moldova Cooperation Program on March 20 and we came to a conclusion that it has been implemented successfully. In the same context we considered the possibility of transiting to the new Program, the terms and maintenance of which will be discussed later", Dodon said.

He added that we discussed the situation in the financial and banking, social and energy sector of the country, stressed the importance of cooperation with international financial institutions for improving the national economy and the population living standards.

The IMF mission headed by Ruben Atoyan is visiting Chisinau on January 22 through February 5 to analyze the recent economic events and the process of implementing the cooperation program. The current mission has no mandate concerning negotiations on concluding a new cooperation program with Moldova.
