​MINISTRY DEVELOPS DRAFT LAW ON REGULATING INSURANCE IN AGRICULTURE

Specialists of the Ministry of Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment are completing the development of a draft law, directed to clear regulation of the insurance activity in agriculture, said Minister Ion Perju at the sitting on the mechanism of insurance in the branch, headed by Prime Minister Ion Chicu.

According to the Government press service, the meeting participants expressed discontent with the existing mechanism of insuring farmers, the current regulatory framework and the practice of insuring agricultural risks.

Ion Perju proposed to stimulate farmers to more actively resort to insurance by means of providing funds for these purposes from the subsidy fund.

Premier asked responsible persons to develop the draft law as soon as possible and to present a roadmap for its implementation.
