PRIME MINISTER PRESENTS ECONOMIC MEASURES DURING STATE OF EMERGENCY

Prime Minister Ion Chicu presented measures on supporting the economy for the period of introducing the state of emergency in connection with the coronavirus.

Speaking from the Parliament rostrum on Tuesday, he said that among these there was the possibility of postponement of the payment of taxes on profit for 1Q and 2Q2019 for legal persons, restructuring of payments on mortgage credits; a milder credit policy, in order that commercial banks to have the possibility of providing cheap loans.

"I already had talks with representatives of companies in the field of communal services and understood that they are ready to consider the possibility of restructuring the payments, while in some cases - even the lowering of tariff. We are considering the possibility of extending the Agriculture Subsidy Fund, including in the view of possible drought. Together with the National Bank of Moldova, we considered the possibility of additional crediting of strategic enterprises. Also, within 10 days we will present the initiative on lowering the VAT for the HoReCa industry", Chicu said.

According to him, the Ministry of Finance will soon present amendments to the regulation of the Prima Casa program, to double the sum of state compensations for 4 thousand beneficiaries.

"Also, we consider the possibility of financial assistance to strategic enterprises in food sphere and maybe in the energy sector. In case of need we will provide support, but so far I assure that there are no risks", the premier said.
