GOVERNING MAJORITY AGREES TO RAISE SALARIES TO MEDICS AND PROVIDE HELP TO AGRICULTURAL PRODUCERS

Health workers’ salaries will be doubled over next 12 months namely by 30% starting from September 1 and once again from January 1, and by 40% in the first half of 2021, as it was decided at the Monday’s meeting of the parliamentary majority [the Party of Socialists and the Democratic Party] with President Igor Dodon and Prime Minister Ion Chicu.

The interlocutors discussed questions of crisis management, anti-pandemic measures, assistance to the population etc.

In the nearest future, the Government will present to the Parliament its draft amendments to the 2020 State Budget that should let increase funding of various economy sectors.

An accord was reached to launch the 6th stage of the First Home program, in whose frame the State undertakes the payment of interest under the credits taken for obtaining housing by the police and the military as well as employees of the National Commission for Securities and of the Information and Security Service (ISS). For these purposes, 20 million lei will be allocated from the State Budget.

As for support for farmers, in the conditions of the current hard year it was decided to increase the Fund for subsidizing of agricultural producers by 100 million lei.

The PSRM and DPM discussed questions pertaining to obtaining of a 100-million-euro credit from the European Union to mitigate the negative impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. Credit terms have already been agreed upon with the European Commission so that the money could come to Moldova before the end of July.
