PAS REGARDS GOVERNMENT'S MEASURES AS INSUFFICIENT AND INSISTS ON STANDARD PROCEDURE OF ADOPTING LAWS

07 july, 2020

The opposition Party of Action and Solidarity believes that the amendments to the State Budget, for which the Government has undertaken responsibility on itself, are insufficient and therefore the essential laws must undergo a standard procedure of approval in the Parliament.

Such an opinion was expressed at a media briefing on Monday by Igor Grosu, Chairman of the PAS parliamentary faction, who named as inappropriate the coalition's attempts to isolate the Parliament from discussing Budget amendments.

Igor Grosu stated that the persistence of Igor Dodon and Ion Chicu to railroad the laws under the Government's own responsibility "is but an attempt to usurp power".

"I am addressing to Dodon and Chicu: you can and must annul the practice of adopting laws under the Government's own responsibility. The Parliament must consider the amendments, and will approve them. The PAS faction shall support any good initiative", assured Igor Grosu.

In his words, "The Chicu Government, which did not do anything, is simply looking for a pretext to resign. So, let's give a corrected Budget to the country, after which please spare the republic of your catastrophic government".
