MOLDOVAGAZ EXPECTS TO COMPLETE REORGANIZATION IN ACCORDANCE WITH III EU ENERGY PACKAGE IN 2021

JSC Moldovagaz expects to complete the reorganization in accordance with the requirements of the III EU Energy Package in 2021, - said Chairman of its Administrative Council Vadim Ceban at a press conference on Tuesday.

He said that the branch of the MoldovaTransGaz transportation system operator is coming to an end, and later 12 distribution enterprises will be merged into one.

"In total, we will have eight affiliated companies. It is planned to save 187.5 million lei by optimizing costs and reducing losses," said the manager.

According to him, the company will expand its gas networks. In 2020, it is planned to spend 50 million lei for this, which will increase the number of gas consumers by 2.8 thousand.

Ceban highly appreciated the completion of the Ungheni-Chisinau gas pipeline construction, believing that it will increase the energy security of Moldova. But he also said that today it is more profitable to buy gas from Russia than from Romania.
