PRIME MINISTER DEMANDS MORE PUBLICITY AND TRANSPARENCY WITH PRIVATIZATION PROCESS

Prime Minister Ion Chicu urged the leadership of the Public Property Agency (АРР) for more publicity and transparency with the privatization process at a government meeting on Wednesday.

APP Director Ghenadii Tepordei said that last week the decision to start privatizing of many state-owned objects, including enterprises and public companies, was made.

"Metalferos has already been put up for auction this year, but to no avail. But the company will be put up for auction again," he said, answering the prime minister's question about the predestination of the former monopoly in the field of scrap metal exports.

As for land plots and other real estate, Tepordei reported that on September 25, Monitorul oficial will publish a list of enterprises that will be put up for auction on October 21.

Prime Minister Ion Chicu demanded more transparency on privatization issues, including "valuable sites in the capital."

"Information about auctions, who pays money - disseminate this data, including through the press, so that all assets are sold at the highest price," he instructed.
