PRESIDENT SANDU ASKS KIEV COLLEAGUE'S HELP TO INVESTIGATE INTO SCHEMES WITH MOLDOVAN REAL ESTATE IN UKRAINE

14 january, 2021

Moldovan President Maia Sandu has addressed to her Kiev colleague Vladimir Zelenskii for help to investigate into dubious schemes used with respect to the Moldovan real estate and other property remaining in Ukraine ever since the Soviet epoch - quarries, sanatoriums and other objects.

Sandu said at the news conference that the talk with Zelenskii on the issue was "very serious", and it was attended by a high-ranked official from the Government of Ukraine responsible for state property management.

"I emphasized that we need to interact on the level of law enforcement agencies because the profiled Moldovan institutions are not able to manage this complicated problem without the Ukrainian colleagues' participation", said Maia Sandu.

In her words, the Ukrainian side assured that such assistance shall be rendered by all means. The question of Moldovan property in Ukraine will be raised also at a near sitting of the Moldovan Supreme Security Council. And in the nearest future, President Sandu will address to the Prosecutor General's Office to help set the property problem in motion.
