ICIS: MOLDOVA WILL SWITCH TO EUROPEAN METHODOLOGY OF TARIFICATION OF GAS TRANSIT

08 april, 2021

Moldova is changing the system of tariffs for gas transit, which has dropped to a minimum since April 1. As Infotag reports with reference to the ICIS agency, the Moldovan regulator ANRE is to approve the European methodology for tariffication of gas transit.

If earlier the price was set for transportation for every 100 km, now it will be set at the point of entry and exit from the country's gas transportation system. According to ICIS, the entrance rate will be $ 3.85 per thousand cubic meters, and the outgoing rate will be $ 2.85. Seasonal odds will not be used.

The agency believes that the new tariffs will significantly reduce the cost of Moldovan transit. It notes that Romania was the last Balkan country to receive Russian fuel through Ukraine. Now Chisinau can only hope for the reverse along the Trans-Balkan gas pipeline.

Earlier, a member of the board of Moldovagaz, Alexandr Sevciuc, said that “Gazprom paid $ 3 under a contract for the transportation of 1,000 cubic meters per 100 km.” This brought Moldovatransgaz and Tiraspoltransgaz until 2019 at $ 24.5 million per year.
