PLATFORMA DA INSPIRES PARLIAMENTARY HEARINGS DUE TO SITUATION ON PETROLEUM MARKET

04 may, 2021

The Platforma DA party insists on holding hearings within the framework of the parliamentary commission on economics of the leadership of the National Agency for Energy Regulation (ANRE) and the Competition Council in connection with the situation on the oil products market. As Infotag reports, the chairman of the Platforma DA faction, vice-speaker Alexander Slusari wrote about this on social networks.

Slusari noted that “against the background of state chaos, suppliers of oil products are crossing the red lines.”

“They again resort to cartel agreements, confident that they will remain unpunished. The sixth increase in fuel prices has occurred in the past four months. It is completely unjustified in the context of world oil prices. This is another significant blow to the country's economy, especially to agriculture,” Slusari stressed.

According to him, “over the past year, the price for a liter of gasoline has grown by almost 4.5 lei, and for diesel fuel - by 3 lei.” He considers this “a gross violation of common sense in order to increase the income of suppliers on the eve of changing the methodology for calculating the minimum price for oil products (recently approved by the parliament -" I. ").”

Therefore, he insists on urgently convening a meeting of the parliamentary commission with the participation of representatives of ANRE and the Competition Council in order to stabilize the market situation.
