ECONOMICS MINISTRY DISCUSSED PROBLEMS OF CONSTRUCTION OF BRIDGE THROUGH DNIESTER IN COSAUTI AND BRIDGE REPAIR IN DUBASARI

The Technical and Economic Council for Roads of the Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure has discussed on the eve the construction of a cross-border bridge across the Dniester in Cosauti and the repair of the bridge in Dubasari.

As Infotag was informed in the press service of the State Administration of Roads (SAR), the State Secretary of the Ministry of Economy, Mihail Lupascu, noted that the bridge between the village of Cosauti in the Soroca region and the Ukrainian city of Yampil will provide “a transit corridor on the territory of the Republic of Moldova to the European Union, reduce the travel time from Chisinau to Kiev.”

The meeting participants discussed the development of a feasibility study by the Universinj project company in order to determine the position of connecting the access road to the bridge, which will have a length of about five kilometers and will connect the bridge under construction with the national road R14.1 R14 - Cosauti - border with Ukraine.

The project company Injproiect presented solutions for the development of design documentation for the repair of the road bridge over the Dniester on the M1 highway border with Romania - Leuseni - Chisinau - Dubasari - border with Ukraine.

“The repair of the bridge that connects the towns of Criuleni and Dubasari is of strategic importance for Moldova,” said the head of SAR, Veaceslav Potop.

Infotag's dossier: The Dubasari bridge was damaged during the Transnistrian conflict, in particular, one span collapsed from the explosion. In the 90s of the twentieth century, it was restored, but since then it has never been repaired.
