- The Popular Action socio-political movement leaders are maintaining that the Communist authorities are doing all in their power to intimidate the citizens who have joined the movement. Sergiu Mocanu, Popular Action Chairman and former Adviser-at-Large to President Vladimir Voronin, stated at a news conference in Infotag today that the Ungheni raion police commissariat had lately resorted to unprecedented actions against certain residents of the Cornesti village.

- Sergiu Mocanu, the leader of the Popular Action Movement and former Adviser-at-Large to President Vladimir Voronin, is convinced it is impossible to solve the Transnistria problem in the nearest future, despite the restarted negotiation process between Chisinau and Tiraspol. Mocanu convened a news conference in Infotag today, at which he offered an opinion that the Transnistria conflict could, theoretically, be settled if Transnistrian leader Igor Smirnov is replaced with Chairman of the region’s supreme soviet [parliament] Yevgeny Shevchuk. - DAAC-HERMES HOLDING VICE-PRESIDENT IGOR SERBINSCHI SAID IN HIS INTERVIEW WITH INFOTAG

- DAAC-Hermes Holding Vice-President Igor Serbinschi said in his interview with Infotag that in 2007 the DAAC-Hermes enterprises had achieved a car sales growth by 41% against 2006. According to his forecasts, in 2008 the car sales volume should grow up by another 40%, as a minimum. DAAC-Hermes views considerable perspectives in a more accessible leasing mechanism. - Sergiu Mocanu, the leader of the Popular Action socio-political movement, has offered Speaker Marian Lupu to quit the ruling Communist Party and join the opposition. On Tuesday, the Popular Action leadership organized a news conference in Infotag, during which Sergiu Mocanu read out the movement’s address to Lupu, saying that “your place is not in the President Vladimir Voronin’s team”.
