KIEV STATEMENT IS ULTIMATUM TO MOLDOVA, MOCANU SAYS
“The Joint Statement, which was signed in Kiev on May 17 by Russian President Dmitry Medvedev and Ukrainian President Victor Yanukovitch, is but an ultimatum to Moldova that implies that the Republic of Moldova can exist as an independent state only in the circle of Russia’s interests”, stated Sergiu Mocanu, the leader of the Popular Action Movement and former Adviser-at-Large to President Vladimir Voronin.
