​AVERAGE SALARY IN MOLDOVA GREW 12% OVER A YEAR

Average salary in Moldova accounted 4524 lei in May, which is 12% higher than a year earlier (4009.1 lei). However, taking into account the inflation, the growth is only of 3.6%. While in terms of the US dollar, salaries even went down due to the Moldovan leu depreciation.

According to the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) data, the budget sphere the average salary reached 4055.2 lei (+15.7%), while in the real sector of economy - 4716.7 lei (+11%).

The highest salaries have IT-sector and communication workers – 9400.4 lei (+14.4%). Financial and insurance sector are the second – 8092.1 lei (8.2%). Workers of heating, electricity, water and water supply are the third with 7672 lei (+7.1%).

The lowest salaries have workers of agricultural sector, forestry and fish farming – 2900.1 lei, as well as catering workers - 2970.3 lei.

The education sector salary is still lower than the country’s average – 3811.8 lei, as well as salaries in the healthcare and social protection sector are – 4469.8 lei.

Infotag’s dossier: In 2014, the average salary in Moldova was 4172 lei, at the planned 4225 lei. For 2015 the Government forecasts it within 4500 lei.
