The Government approved the program of distributing the money from the Road Fund and has changed the list of capital investment projects on Wednesday.

The document provides the allocation of 1 billion lei for financing the repairing of automobile roads, conducted this year and the completion of the current repairing. The biggest part of sum – 755.7 million lei – is directed to covering expenditures on technical servicing and repairing national and public roads.

A part of the sum is designed for covering expenditures on building engineering structures, project works, road assessment and purchasing of land plots for extending national highways within their rehabilitation. 96 million lei were directed to current servicing of roads, 60 million – to road maintenance in winter period. Besides, 229.6 million lei were allocated for repayment of debts on road building and repayment in 2015.

There are 65 national public roads with the total length of 3330 km and more than 700 local roads in Moldova.

Also, the Government introduced amendments in the earlier approved documents, extending the list of investment projects for state structures.

According to the document, projects, which are covered from financial sources provided by development partners as branch budget assistance, may also benefit from budget financing as projects of capital investments. Also, grants and external credits on building, repairing, extension or reconstruction of state buildings and facilities are also included in this category.

The correction is one of conditions of the World Bank Financial Assistance Program for ensuring transparency and efficiency in the field of state capital investments. Projects of capital investments are considered by a working group headed by Finance Ministry. Projects worth over 5 million lei are regarded as qualified beneficiary.
