PREMIER FILIP DEMANDS TO TAKE URGENT MEASURES FOR COMBATING TAX EVASION

25 may, 2017

At the Wednesday's Government meeting, Prime Minister Pavel Filip demanded to take urgent measures for combating the tax evasion.

He reminded that over the last month, the State Tax Service fined cigarette sellers for a sum of more than 1 million lei.

"I congratulate the Tax Service on good job, but the very fines are not the reason for joy. It is important that we sent a clear answer to economic agents that we will not tolerate tax evasion", the Premier said.

According to him, those who do not pay taxes are striking a double blow on the country. On one hand, funds do not reach the budget, on the other hand - this does not contribute to citizens' social protection.

Head of the Government stressed that the monitoring of economic activities will be conducted in a transparent manner, in order not to exert unnecessary pressure on taxpayers.
