WB PROPOSES GRANTS FOR POSTHARVEST INFRASTRUCTURE TO MOLDOVAN FRUIT GROWERS

The Moldova Agriculture Competitiveness Project (MAC-P) of the World Bank provides to Moldovan horticulturists grants up to US$350 thousand for buying washing and sorting lines, equipment for calibration, packaging and drying, as well as industrial cold storages.

According to the Ministry of Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment, the financing is provided within the program “Contribution to Access to Markets”.

Grants are provided only to groups of producers made of five and more legal or physical persons with experience in horticulture of not less than 3 years. One of key conditions is joint financing, share of grant beneficiaries’ investments should account at least 50%.

Applications may be submitted to the Agency for Interventions and Payments in Agriculture until November 1.

Infotag’s dossier: The grant program “Contribution to Access to Markets” is implemented since 2014. Since then, the financing was given to 171 producers. The total sum of the provided grants accounted for US$7.5 million, while the farmers’ share - US$8.6 million.
