MOLDOVA TO RECEIVE USA ASSISTANCE FOR RAISING TRADE AND INVESTMENTS

At the Wednesday’s sitting, the Government approved the start of negotiations and signing of the second addition to the US-Moldova Government Agreement on Cooperation in Achieving Development Goal, signed on September 28, 2016, within which the US will provide to Moldova support for raising trade and investments.

The second addition implies raising of the sum of assistance, provided in the Agreement, by US$2.28 million. Thus, the total sum of financial assistance will grow to US$13.15 million.

Additional funds will be directed to implementation of a new project: “Structural Reforms in Moldova”, which is aimed at improving business environment by means of implementing reforms in entrepreneurship and tax sectors.

The project is directed to lowering the administrative barriers to entrepreneurial activities, optimization of tax system, reduction of possibilities for corruption, improvement of access to information and strengthening of dialog between public and private sectors.
