CEC ESTIMATES ITS 2018 EXPENDITURES AT 175 MILLION LEI

16 octomber, 2017

The Moldovan Central Election Commission is projecting to spend 175.8 million lei next year, as per the draft of the 2018 CEC Budget the body has adopted on Friday.

The largest part of the sum will go for the next year's ordinary parliamentary election - 94.4 million lei; the Commission's own needs will require 79.2 million lei; the CEC Center for continuous education in the election sphere - 1.7 million lei; and 508 thousand lei - for holding various local elections.

CEC Chairperson Alina Russu says the budget is ambitious, but balanced, because the Commission's tasks are fairly complicated.

Now the draft resolution on approving the budget will be sent to the Government and then Parliament for consideration and for including it into the draft of the 2018 State Budget.

Infotag's dossier: The Commission's 2017 budget constitutes 63.7 million lei, of which sum 54.4 million lei has been projected for the CEC's own needs, 7.5 million lei - for local referenda, 1.3 million lei - for the CEC Center for continuous education in the election sphere, and 458 thousand lei for local elections.
