OCTOBER INFLATION RATE IN MOLDOVA – 1.5%

Prices in Moldova grew by 1.5% in October, which is almost twice higher than in September.

According to the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) the year to date inflation accounted for 6%, while since October 2016 till October 2017 – 7.9%.

NBS specialists say that the inflation was primarily due to seasonal growth of food products prices – on average by 3.6%. Non-food products and services slightly went up in price – by 0.3% and 0.1%, respectively.

Infotag’s dossier: In October 2016, the inflation was 1.3%, while the annual inflation – 2.4%. For 2017, the National Bank of Moldova was initially forecasting inflation within 10.1%, but has revised it already several times, lowering it to 6.5%.
