INFLATION IN MOLDOVA IN 2017 IS THREE-FOLD HIGHER THAN IN 2016

The consumer price index in Moldova accounted for 7.3% in 2017 against 2.4% a year before. The real figure proved to be much higher than the November forecast of the National Bank of Moldova, which expected maximum 6.5%.
According to the National Bureau of Statistics, in December the prices went up by 0.5% on average. Food grew in price by 0.9%, non-food products - 0.4%, while services almost did not change in price - the growth is only of 0.1%.
Infotag's dossier: The NBM expects the returning of the inflation in its targeted corridor of 5% В± 1.5% in the second half of 2018, while the annual inflation this year will reach 4%.
