SOCIAL FUND RECEIVES 320 MILLION LEI FOR COVERING DEFICIT

Revenues to the state social insurance fund exceeded 3,222 million lei (US$189.5 million) as of the beginning of March, which is 16.7% of the 2018 plan. In comparison to January-February 2017, revenues grew 245.7 million lei.

According to the National Social Insurance Fund (CNAS), the basic share of revenues – 1,975 million (+19.8%) accounted for mandatory social insurance.

Transfers from state budget fell 1,329 to 1,245 million lei. Out of these, 925.9 million lei are aimed at social payments and other allocations, financed from the state budget, while 320 million – for covering the social fund budget.

Social fund budget expenditures over two months achieved 3,064 million lei (+9.9%) and were 158.3 million lei less than revenues.

The CNAS states that it has timely and in full executed all the financial liabilities to consumers and implemented all types of social payments.

With all this, the balance on CNAS accounts was 488.9 million lei as of March 1.
