MOLDOVA UPDATES ITS HARD-CURRENCY RESERVE HISTORICAL MAXIMUM
Moldova updated its historical maximum of hard-currency reserve for already the fourth time year to date.
According to the National Bank of Moldova (NBM), as of July 6 it exceeded US$2,923 billion, which is US$20 million more than the previous record, registered on January 31. Since the beginning of 2018, the NBM reserve grew US$120 million.
The reserve in convertible currency reached US$2,895 million. US$1,579 million of them are placed in government securities, while US$1,315 million – as deposits in foreign banks. The golden reserve accounts for US$2.905 million.
In late 2017 it accounted for US$2,803 million, in 2016 – US$2,206 million, in 2015 – US$1,756 million, in 2014 – US$2,156 million. In 2013 it was US$2,827 million, in 2012 – US$2,515 million, in 2011 - US$1,965 million, in 2010 – US$1,717 million.
