GOVERNMENT APPROVES SALARY CALCULATION METHODOLOGY FOR PUBLIC SECTOR

The Government approved on Wednesday the new methodology of calculating the salaries for public servants for transiting to a new labor remuneration system.

According to the Government, as a result of the reform, there will be no more workers in the public sector who would receive less than 2 thousand lei. First of all, the reform is directed to raising salaries to those budget workers, who were receiving small wages. Salaries of highly-paid officials will not be incremented at the first stages of reform.

Before, Minister of Finance Ion Chicu said that after the reform, the country's highest pay size will not exceed the lowest wage by more than 15-fold.

According to calculations, 3.9 billion lei will be necessary for implementing the reform in 2019-2021.
