PRICES GREW 0.9% IN MOLDOVA IN 2018

The inflation in Moldova accounted for 0.9% in 2018 against 7.3% a year earlier. The real figure proved to be much higher of even the latest, October forecast of the National Bank of Moldova, which expected 3.3% and is far from its target corridor of 5% ± 1.5%.
According to the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS), in December prices grew by 0.5% on average. Food products grew in price 1.1%, while non-food products and services – only 0.1%.
Infotag’s dossier: The National Bank is expecting that in 2019 the inflation will return into the target corridor, forecasting it at 5.4%.
