OVER ONE-HALF OF SOCIAL FUND REVENUES ACCOUNTED FOR STATE ALLOCATIONS IN JANUARY
Revenues to the National Social Insurance Fund (CNAS) exceeded 1,977 million lei (US$117.4 million) as of the beginning of February, or 9.1% of the 2019 plan. In comparison to January 2018, revenues grew 244 million lei.
According to the CNAS, mandatory social insurance contributions accounted for 982.7 million lei, growing 1.9%.
At the same time, transfers from state budget grew 27.3% - to 1,004 billion lei. 514.7 million lei of these are designed to payment of social allowances and other payments, financed from the state budget, while 490 million - for covering the social fund deficit.
CNAS expenditures accounted for 1,766 million lei (+16.5%) in January and were 230.8 million lei lower than revenues.
The cash balance on CNAS accounts as of February 1 reached 594.6 million lei, growing 226.3 million lei over a month.
In 2018, the social insurance budget exceeded 19,781 million lei (US$1,163 million), including 6.67 billion lei - allocations from the state budget.
