ANRE SEES NO REASONS FOR RAISING GAS TARIFFS

18 march, 2019

The National Energy Regulatory Agency says that there are no grounds to raise the tariffs on natural gas for ultimate consumers, as no application in this regard was submitted by the main supplier – the Moldovagaz.

According to the ANRE, besides an application, the supplier should also present justified calculations and arguments for tariff revision.

According to the Law on natural gas, the ANRE Administrative Council is obliged to consider the data about the main costs, prices and tariffs during 180 calendar days since the day of registering corresponding demand.

The thing is that since January 1, the Gazprom is supplying to Moldova the blue fuel at a price of US$237.46 per 1 thousand cubic meters, which almost by one-fourth higher than in 1Q2018 (US$187.4).

The last time the gas tariffs for ultimate consumers were changed a year ago, when they fell on average by 20.3% - to 4420 lei per 1 thousand cubic meters of gas (without VAT).
