​BUDGET ALLOCATIONS TO SOCIAL FUND EXCEEDED US$200 MILLION AS OF EARLY MARCH

The revenues to the National Social Insurance Fund (CNAS) accounted for 3,577 billion lei as of the beginning of March, which is 16.7% of the 2019 plan. In comparison to February 2018, the revenues grew 355 million lei.

According to the CNAS, the main share of revenues – 2,068 million accounted for revenues of mandatory social insurance against 1,975 million a year ago.

Transfers from state budget grew to 1,488 million from 1,245 million lei. 998.5 of them are designed for social and other types of payments, financed from the state budget, while 490 million (+170 million lei) – for covering the social fund deficit.

The CNAS expenditures reached 3,511 million lei (+15.1%) over two months and were 65.4 million lei lower than revenues.

Meanwhile, the balance on CNAS accounts was 429.3 million lei (-59.6 million) as of March 1.
