The Government raised the maximum size of annual subsidy per 1 farmer to 5 million lei from 3 million, as well as per a group of agricultural producers - to 7.5 million lei (US$419.6 million) from 4.5 million.

According to the Government, the decision taken on Wednesday is aimed at improving the postharvest infrastructure and extending the possibility for coming to new sales markets. Besides, it is aimed at stimulating farmers to join efforts for improving the quality of products and improving exports.

Minister of Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment Nicolae Ciubuc said that in recent years the trend of fruit harvest growing is registered and as a result - difficulties with storing and processing of raw materials.

The innovations imply the raising of subsidies for planting vineyards and orchards. The limit of the subsidy for agricultural risks was raised to 1.5 million lei from 400 thousand lei. The measures on support for investments in developing the animal production sector were implemented for quality raising of the volume of milk and getting the right to export chicken and eggs to the EU.
