MOLDOVA IT PARK RESIDENTS PAID 133 MILLION LEI AS SINGLE TAX IN 2018

20 may, 2019

Residents of the country’s first park of informational technologies Moldova IT Park paid to the state budget 133 million lei in the form of single sales tax (7%), while other fees accounted for 165 million lei.

According to the annual report on the IT Park activity, published by the Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure, despite the application of single tax, which is much smaller than the ordinary taxation regime, revenues to the state budget from park residents grew. This is due to the doubling of the residents’ salary fund, which indirectly has a positive influence on consumption inside the country, as well as the doubling of revenues from residents’ average annual sales.

The volume of Moldova IT Park sales reached 1.9 billion lei last year, which is 8.5% higher that forecasted. Only 364 million lei, or 19% from the total volume, accounted for the internal market. A corresponding result was achieved by companies, which are registered in the IT Park over the first 11 months of 2018.

By the end of the year, the number of employees of resident companies reached 6.7 thousand people. Average salary of employees accounted for 27.9 thousand lei as of December. The tempos of salary growth in resident companies were much higher than in the IT sector in general, which indirectly demonstrates the Moldova IT Park members’ desire to bring their businesses in legal channels.

In 57% cases, IT Park residents were providing services on developing software on order, 12.2% - data processing, webpage administration and related activities, 10% – on consultations in IT.

As Infotag has already reported, The Moldova IT Park was registered on January 1, 2018 for 10 years, when it is planned to raise the number of residents to 500. The Park’s strategic goals are: attraction of local and foreign investments, creation of jobs, testing of new services and development of the IT industry in Moldova. By the end of 2018, there were around 350 residents in the Park.
