MOLDOVA UPDATES HISTORICAL MAXIMUM OF HARD-CURRENCY RESERVE

For the first time in 2019, the official reserve of the National Bank of Moldova achieved a new record level, exceeding US$3,056 million as of November 8.

This sum is US$7 million more than the previous record, registered on November 8, 2018. Year to date, the reserve grew US$61 million.

The very reserve in convertible currency reached US$3,051 million. US$1,784 million of these are placed in the form of government securities, while US$1,267 million - on deposits in foreign banks. The gold reserve accounts for US$3,547 thousand.

Infotag's dossier: As of the end of 2018, the NBM currency reserve was US$2,995 million lei, in 2017 - US$2,803 million, in 2016 - US$2,206 million, in 2015 - US$1,756 million, in 2014 - US$2,156 million. In 2013 it was US$2,827 million, in 2012 - US$2,515 million, in 2011 - US$1,965 million, in 2010 - US$1,717 million.
