MOLDOVA STILL HOPES TO GET THE RIGHT TO EXPORT CHICKEN AND EGGS TO EU

Moldova will strengthen efforts on fulfilling the requirements of the roadmap for getting the right to export poultry meat and grade B eggs to the European Union. This was one of the topics, discussed at the working sitting, dedicated to the implementation of the 2019-2020document, held by State Secretary of the Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure Iuliana Dragalin on Monday.

According to the ministry, the sitting participants discussed aspects connected with the audit mission in relation to exports of products of animal origin, the building in Moldova of a waste processing station and the accreditation of a lab for animal health.

According to information, provided by responsible agencies, a set of actions was undertaken in 2019 for harmonizing the national legislation that regulates phytosanitary measures with European requirements.

As for the accreditation of the lab on the basis of the international standard ISO17025, on September 30, 2019, the MOLDAC National Center received an application for accreditation to the Animal Health Laboratory and the extension of accreditation to the Food Safety Laboratory within the Republican Veterinary Diagnostic Center.

As for the installation for waste processing, the elaboration of a draft roadmap on developing the system of collecting, processing and burning byproducts of animal origin not designed for consumption, is nearing completion.

Also, an agreement on priority activities that should be conducted by competent institutions and agencies was achieved at the sitting. In its turn, the Ministry of Economy will continue tracking and coordinating the process of conducting the activities implied in the roadmap for getting the right to export poultry meat and grade B eggs to the EU.
