PLATFORM DA ADVANCES LOCAL BUDGETS SUPPORT INITIATIVE

Party Platform DA put forward a legislative initiative to support local budgets. The chairman of the party's fraction, Alexandru Slusari, said at a briefing on Wednesday that the Platform DA "will uphold the policy of decentralization and increased autonomy of local authorities."

"Representatives of local authorities should not stand in front of the center with outstretched hands and exchange the loyalty of leaders of the ruling parties for votes in the elections," he said.

The party proposes that part of the income tax of legal entities remain in local budgets.

"The share of such budgets in GDP has decreased since 2010 from 10.5% to 7.7% in 2018. But the volumes of transfers to local budgets are growing. This situation is unacceptable. We suggest that 25% of corporate income taxes remain in the budgets of cities and villages, for municipalities-10%, for Chisinau and Balti-5%," said the deputy.

The impact of such an initiative will be significant - about a billion lei, which can be used by local authorities.
