GOVERNMENT WILL CREATE WORKING GROUP TO RESOLVE TRANSPORTATION PROBLEMS

Problems in the activities of road carriers were discussed on Wednesday during an online meeting between Prime Minister Ion Chicu and the heads of transport associations.

As the government informed Infotag, the road carriers spoke, in particular, about unfair competition in the industry, abuses by regulatory authorities, and complained about the high cost of transportation permits.

They spoke in favor of changes to the legislation to eliminate barriers that threaten and block their activities.

“Given the fact that the pandemic crisis has led to a decrease in carrier activity by almost 50% over the past five months, transport workers also need financial support,” the carriers said.

The prime minister assured that the government, whenever possible, will try to find optimal solutions to overcome the difficulties they face. He ordered the creation of a working group with the participation of representatives of carriers and competent departments in order to consider proposals on the problems raised at the first meeting on August 18.
