MOLDOVAN MoF AND EUROPEAN COMMISSION SIGN 9-MILLION-EURO GRANT AGREEMENT

Moldova’s Ministry of Finance and the European Commission have signed an agreement on gratuitous financing of Moldova to an amount of 9 million euros. The money is intended for the project called “The Fund in support of the health system in the emergency situation caused by COVID-19 and of reforms within the EU-Moldova Association Agreement”.

The Agreement consists of 4 components: strengthening of the health system potential to oppose to COVID-19 (5 million euros); strengthening of the supervision potential, corporate management and risk management in the finance sector (2 million euros); consolidation of justice and security (1 million euros); and strengthening of media potential and stability (1 million euros).

The Agreement is a part of the European Union’s 2020 Program of actions for Moldova financed within the framework of the European Neighborhood Instrument.
