CHISINAU CITY HALL PUTS UP DRAFT OF 2021 MUNICIPAL BUDGET FOR PUBLIC DEBATE

The Chisinau Primaria [city government] has published on its website the draft of the 2021 Municipal Budget and invited all interested people and organizations to speak out their proposals, ideas etc. by no later December 24.

The city authorities are projecting budget revenues to be 4667 million lei, with more than a half of the sum (2644 million or 56.7%) to be transfers from the country’s State Budget; 1257 million lei (26.9%) as taxes and duties, and 671.2 million lei (14.4%) – as the city’s own incomes.

Expenditures have been projected at 5957 million lei (+27.8%). More than a half of them (3346 million lei, or +6.6%) will be used for the needs of education, healthcare and social protection.

A budget deficit of almost 1290 million lei will be covered mainly at the expense of domestic and external loans (1069 million lei) as well as of external credits to come for realization of projects (342.6 million lei).
