FOREIGN EXCHANGE RESERVES OF MOLDOVA INCREASED BY $ 724 MLN IN 2020

Moldova's foreign exchange reserves exceeded $ 3.783 billion in 2020, having increased by $ 783.9 million over the year. As Infotag reports, citing data from the National Bank (NBM), in December reserves increased by more than $ 103 million.

This was facilitated, in particular, by the receipt of loans and grants by the Ministry of Finance for investment projects - $ 59.28 million, including $ 49.95 million from the European Investment Bank; purchases of NBM currency - $ 41 million; increase in exchange rates against the US dollar - $ 34.53 million; receiving by the Ministry of Finance from the European Commission $ 6.13 million to support the budget.

In 2020, the reserves updated their historical maximum more than 20 times. The current record exceeds $ 3.788 billion and was set on December 18.

Infotag's dossier: In 2019, the reserves amounted to $ 3.059 billion, 2018 - $ 2.995 billion, 2017 - $ 2.803 billion, 2016 - $ 2.206 billion, 2015 - $ 1.756 billion, 2014 - $ 2.156 billion, 2013 - $ 2.82 billion; 2012 - $ 2.515 billion, 2011 - $ 1.965 billion, in 2010 - $ 1.717 billion.
