​UKRAINIAN BORDER GUARDS DETECTED ANOTHER ALCOHOL PIPELINE FROM TRANSNISTRIA

On the eve, Ukrainian border guards found a polyethylene pipe 32 mm in diameter on the bank of the Cuciurgan Reservoir in the Odessa region, which stretched along the reeds across the border to the Transnistrian coast. Law enforcement officers pulled out a total of 200 meters of pipeline, which is supposed to be prepared for the smuggling of alcohol. Such finds are not uncommon on the Transnistrian section of the Moldovan-Ukrainian border. The region produces huge volumes of alcohol. Even according to local statistics, in the first half of the year in Transnistria with a population of less than 460 thousand people, 93 thousand decalitres of ethyl alcohol, 158 thousand decaliters of vodka and alcoholic beverages, 54 thousand decaliters of cognacs, 45 thousand decaliters of brandy alcohol, 35 thousand decaliters of strong alcoholic drinks and tinctures were produced.
