ON THE BRIDGE THROUGH THE DNIESTER AT THE VILLAGE OF SANATAUCA, UNKNOWN SCATTERED WIRE SPLITS

15 november, 2020

On Sunday, deputy chief of the General Inspectorate of Police Marian Maxian said at a briefing that on the election day, on the bridge over the Dniester near the village of Sanatauca, unknown persons scattered pieces of barbed wire.

“In the morning, at seven o'clock in the morning, on the bridge near the village of Sanatauca, Floresti district, unknown persons threw sharp metal objects on the right side of the road. Because of this, many vehicles, including police cars, suffered from punctured tires,” Maxian stated.

He outlined that “the incident was registered with the Floresti Inspectorate and an investigation has already begun.”

“This is cynical, it speaks of a lack of respect for society. What if the help of firefighters or doctors was needed, in an emergency they would not be able to reach their destination, and this could lead to deaths?” the policeman asked.

Marian noted that "the police condemn such immoral and antisocial behavior."

He named the incident in Cantemir as another case of “cynicism.”

“The gates of the house of the chairman of the polling station in Gotesti, the mayor of the village, were painted. The police are investigating this case,” Maxian stressed.
