That’s how the two free-lance lawyers perceive the yesterday’s decision of the governing Alliance for European Integration leaders to organize a national referendum on adopting a new Constitution.

PROJECT MANAGER FILAT STANDS BEHIND TURCAN AND UNTILA, EX-PRESIDENT SAYS

PROJECT MANAGER FILAT STANDS BEHIND TURCAN AND UNTILA, EX-PRESIDENT SAYS

Chisinau.   The political projects of former Communist parliamentarian Vladimir Turcan and of former Moldova Noastra Alliance Deputy Chairman MP Veaceslav Untila are being conducted by the Liberal Democratic Party (LDPM) Chairman, Prime Minister of Moldova Vlad Filat, presumes ex-President of Moldova, leader of the opposition Moldovan Communist Party MP Vladimir Voronin.

He stated on the NIT television last weekend that the recent departure of 4 Communist faction members [Vladimir Turcan, Victor Stepaniuc, Ludmila Belchenkova and Valentin Guznac] and the split ongoing in the Moldova Noastra Alliance “are all the games being conducted by architect Filat”.

“At a recent plenum of the MCP Central Committee, we decided to take no part in the December 7 presidential election. Stepaniuc was the only person who stood up against that decision. Turcan and Belchenkova did not vote for the decision because they are not members of the MCP. And Guznac preferred to hide behind comrades’ backs. None of them took part in the [December 7] voting for president, though all the four were present in the parliament room, sitting in silence”, Voronin said.

In his words, the four thus demonstrated that the genuine reason of their quitting the MCP faction was non-election of president and making Moldova have an early parliamentary election.

Besides this, the Filat’s binary project is targeted not solely against the Moldovan Communist Party (MCP) but also against the Democratic Party (DP), presumes Vladimir Voronin.

“Marian Lupu has married the Democratic Party, but all the same he has remained a stranger there. May be Dumitru Diacov [Democratic Party Honorable Chairman MP] will dislike my words, but I guess that besides its name, the Democratic Party has nothing in common with democracy. I regard the DP as a liberal party, and Marian Lupu, with his definitely Left outlooks, is alien both to the DP and the [ruling] Alliance for European Integration”, believes Vladimir Voronin.

Touching upon the last week’s visit paid to Moldova by Romanian President Traian Basescu, Voronin accused him of generating differences between Moldova and Romania.

“Basescu was telling us all those fairytales – about Moldova’s European integration with Romania’s help – in order to push Moldova towards unification with Romania ”, presumes the former Moldovan president.

In his opinion, the much-advertised removal of barbed wire from along the Prut River is in fact a dismantling of the border with Romania and with NATO, “which is unacceptable”.
