GOVERNMENT PLANS TO EARN 350 MILLION LEI FROM PRIVATIZATION IN 2010

In 2010 Moldova will earn 350 million lei from privatization ($27.5 million).

As Director General of the Public Property Agency Tudor Copaci said in his interview for the Logos-pres newspaper, it is planned to receive these financial resources from four sources.

“We plan to earn 150 million lei at the cost of selling government shares in joint stock companies, 56 million lei - in the state single complexes, 100 million lei - unfinished construction objects, 25 million lei – land plots”, Copaci said.

Speaking about taking stock of all the state property, Copaci said that the matter is of 350 objects.

“The stock will be taken at the enterprises, where the Government has shares, which do not exceed 25% “, he remarked.

In Copaci’s words, 50-70 objects, which are of particular interest will be selected out of the above 350 objects.

“We shall work out an original visiting card for them – Company Profile”, he remarked and communicated with confidence that, in all probability, these objects will include heating stations, Tutun-CTC, Farmaco, Viorica-Cosmetic, Juvaier,  Red-Nord and RED Nord Vest.

It is envisaged that financial and economic analysts, which the Public Property Agency will select on the basis of a contest, will work out the Company Profile card, This project will be implemented with financial support on the part of the  UNDP.
