ANTICOMMUNISM IS TRANSIENT FAD – DODON
Anticommunism and unionism [idea of unification of Moldova and Romania] are in fashion at the moment, but this is a bad and transient fashion – a fad, presumes MCP parliamentarian, former First Deputy Premier and ex-Minister of Economy and Trade Igor Dodon.
Analyzing the current political situation in Moldova on his personal blog, Dodon wrote that anticommunism is a trend of destruction, prohibition, power usurping, humiliation of the nation’s identity, and decay of the country’s statehood.
He believes that the constituent parties of the ruling Alliance for European Integration have one common goal – annihilation of the Moldovan Communist Party, and subsequently, may be, – of Moldova as a state. To achieve this goal, a gigantic anticommunist propaganda machine is working at home as well as outside the republic.
“To declare oneself an anticommunist is the only means to receive influential sponsors’ backing, and anticommunism continues to bring votes and income to some politicians”, believes Igor Dodon.
He is expecting new blows on communism in Moldova in the nearest future, and the emergence of “new opponents having special education”.
Dodon highlighted that anticommunists “are bombarding not only the Communist Party as a whole. They are conducting artillery fire against its leader [Vladimir Voronin] and are gradually setting fire on his family”.
In his words, anticommunists think it is quite normal to call Moldovans an invented and narrow-minded nation, and the residents of the Moldovan land – Romanians.
Igor Dodon is convinced that common citizens of Moldova have a different vision of all these things, and they are able to and shall defend their national identity, unshakable national traditions, and their Moldovan State.
