MCP ASKS CEC TO DISMISS NICOLAE GARBU

Chisinau. The ruling Moldovan Communist Party has sent a petition to the Central Election Commission, asking it to analyze the behaviour of one of its members, Nicolae Garbu, and to consider his dismissal from the post.
Communist Party’s permanent spokesman in the CEC Sergiu Sirbu stated to the press Garbu does not actually performs his official duties and only acts in the interests of the Moldova Noastra Alliance, which has nominated him to this post.
For a proof, Sirbu referred to two recent examples when Mr. Garbu attended seminars for local administrations of the Soldanesti and Soroca raions, and instead of focusing on electoral agenda questions he started making loud political statements about how the Communist authorities had fixed the April 5 parliamentary elections.
Sirbu also mentioned several more instances of how Nicolae Garbu abused his official post for overt canvassing in the Moldova Noastra Alliance’s favor.
Before, the question of Garbu’s dismissal from the post was raised in the Central Election Commission twice, but the MNA representative remained afloat.
