NUMBER OF MOLDOVAN CITIZENS SUFFERING FROM RENAL DISEASES INCREASE YEAR AFTER YEAR

The number of Moldovan citizens suffering from kidney diseases increase year after year, Boris Sasu of the Ministry of Health told Infotag.
In his words, several tens of thousands of Moldovan citizens are suffering from various renal diseases, which often cause invalidity. Over 350 patients in Moldova pass hemodialysis – method for the extrarenal blood purification in the case of acute and chronic renal insufficiency.
There are seven hemodialysis centers in Moldova, four of them are in Chisinau.
On Thursday, actions dedicated to the International Kidney Day are conducted in Moldova. The objective is to raise the society’s awareness of the renal disease problem and to stop the disease growth in this way.
The International Kidney Day is conducted under the motto: “We Defend Kidney – We Control Diabetes”, as the diabetes is the most frequent reason, which causes chronic renal diseases.
