GERMANY'S ECONOMY MINISTER TO VISIT MOLDOVA18.09.2007
Chisinau. The Federal Minister of Economy and Technologies, Michael Glos, will pay an official visit to this republic on September 24 through 27 on the invitation of the Moldovan Ministry of Economy and Trade. The visit's chief objective is intensification of relations between the two countries.
The high guest will have meetings with Moldovan President Vladimir Voronin, Parliament Chairman Marian Lupu, Prime Minister Vasile Tarlev, Deputy Premier, Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Andrei Stratan, Minister of Economy and Trade Igor Dodon, other officials.
Michael Gloss will meet also with the German people of business working in this republic.
Germany is one of Moldova's main trade partners. In January-July 2007, the trade turnover between the two nations marked US$213 million - up 74.3% against the first seven months last year. However, Moldova's exports to Germany were almost 4 times smaller than its imports from there. As of last April 1, the German investments in the Moldovan national economy were standing at 625 million lei - 5.15% of the aggregate foreign investment volume. There are 146 companies with German capitals working in this republic.
