COMMUNISTS CALLING INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITY “TO STOP LIQUIDATION OF MOLDOVA”

The opposition Moldovan Communist Party (MCP) has called upon the official mediators to the Transnistrian conflict settlement process – the Russian Federation, Ukraine and the OSCE, as well as the United Nations Organization to help put an end to the ongoing “criminal geopolitical re-division in Europe, liquidation of the Republic of Moldova as an independent state, and the unrighteous, criminal governance of the republic under the European Union banners”.

The MCP leadership wrote in a statement today that upon signing the Association Agreement with the European Union, Moldova will be immediately deprived of its sovereignty in external policy, in questions of foreign and domestic trade and of state security.

“Robbed out and humiliated by its own rulers, Moldova will receive from the European Union only a list of burdensome and mortal obligations, contrary to false expectations, – and not a single of European freedoms. The Leanca Government has overtly sold Moldova into geopolitical slavery, having split the country along the Dniester River, and having turned the small European country into a yelping anti-Russia mutt on a European chain”, wrote the Communists.

In their opinion, the policy of overt and demonstrative humiliating of one’s own native country, of its Constitution and people is being continued with a particular enthusiasm by the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Moldova and by the Parliament of Romania, “who have embarked practically simultaneously on an international legal dismantling of Moldova”.

“The Constitutional Court in fact blessed Moldova’s renunciation of its own internationally recognized borders, whereas the Romanian Parliament declared a course for a soonest-possible unification of Bessarabia [the present-day mainland Republic of Moldova – without the Transnistrian region] and Romania, and even determined mechanisms and means of achieving this goal”, said the MCP statement.

Its authors think that by acting so, “Romania and the Government of Moldova, preserved in power only thanks to European Union’s unceremonious efforts, have sent an unprecedented challenge to the entire people of Moldova”.

“The artificial disintegration of Moldova, destabilization of conflict on the Dniester, re-shaping of post-war borders cannot be withstood solely by one force – the opposition Communist Party. This situation requires consolidation of all international resources for putting a due influence on the criminal oligarchic regime in Moldova”, wrote the Communists, and expressed hope that “this is the only way to avoid not only an annexationist absorption of Moldova by the neighbor Romanian state, but also to save civil peace in Moldova and hope for overcoming the domestic political conflict by using civilized, democratic methods”.
