ROMANIA PREMIER VICTOR PONTA TO VISIT MOLDOVA NEXT WEEK

20 august, 2014

Prime Minister of Romania Victor Ponta is going to make a working visit to Moldova next week.

According to Romanian news agency Agerpres, he requested the structures, subordinate to the Cabinet of Ministers, to inspect the realization of projects, initiated by Romania in support of the Republic of Moldova.

“The visit aims to check the realization of each Romanian project in particular. We want to be sure that our assistance reaches the concrete addressees. We will visit the gas pipeline Iasi-Ungheni, the preschool institutions, renovated with Romanian money, as well as will inspect how our emergency rescue services (SMURD) are working and how the cars, donated by us to local authorities, are used. On the Government meeting we will summarize the results and will assess our activity. We believe that it is properly to show Moldova that, in the current difficult situation with Russian ban on imports, Romania is next to Moldovan people not in words but in deeds”, said Ponta.

According to him, trade relations between Moldova and Romania are strengthened, while the economic cooperation brings tangible results. In particular, Romania became one of the largest consumers of Moldovan products and is providing Moldovan authorities a comprehensive support in the process of European integration.

As Infotag has already reported, on August 27, in Independence Day of the Republic of Moldova, the opening of Moldovan part of Ungheni-Iasi transboundary gas pipeline is planned. It is assumed that the supplies of gas from Romania to Moldova will start through it already this year.
