​COMMUNIST PARTY ADOPTS ITS LIST OF CANDIDATES FOR PARLIAMENT

The Wednesday’s plenum of the Moldovan Communist Party Central Committee approved the MCP ticket for the November 30 parliamentary elections.

The list of 103 candidates is headed by the ex-President of Moldova, Party Chairman Vladimir Voronin, followed by parliamentary MCP faction chairwoman Maria Postoico and the head of the MCP electoral headquarters, Artur Resetnicov.

Then go members of the incumbent Parliament Galina Balmos, Violetta Ivanova, Vladimir Vitiuc, Alexander Bannikov, Irina Vlah, as well as Alexander Isayev – Editor-in-Chief of “The Communist” newspaper, and Ivan Tomai – Chairman of the Ocnita Raion.

Among the most prominent personalities on the MCP ticket are Soroca Mayor Elena Bodnarenco, MP Victor Mindru, Chairman of the MCP faction in the Chisinau Municipal Council [city legislature] Boris Golovin (16), Corneliu Mihalache – former member of the Audiovisual Coordinating Council (ACC) and currently the Editor-in-Chief of the Nezavissimaya Moldova [Independent Moldova] newspaper (17), Mayor of Balti Vasile Panciuc (21), ex-Minister of Justice Vitalie Pirlog (26).

Among the first 25 names on the ticket are also incumbent Communist parliamentarians Igor Vremea, Anatol Gorila, Sergiu Stati, Ocsana Domenti, Anatol Zagorodnii, Inna Supac, Alla Mironic. And the Director General of the NIT television channel closed down by the current authorities, Adela Raileanu, is the 35th.

Absolutely all of them are MCP members because this time the party ticket was open only to Communists.

It is noteworthy that the ticket does not comprise even a single of incumbent parliamentarian from the so-called ‘Mark Tkachuk group’ – Iurie Muntean, Grigore Petrenco, Alexander Petkov, Constantin Staris, Zurab Todua and Mihail Polyansky.
