MOLDOVAN CONSTITUTIONAL COURT CHAIRMAN REFUTES RUSSIAN FOREIGN MINISTER’S STATEMENTS

21 octomber, 2014

A 100% lie – that was how Moldovan Constitutional Court Chairman Alexandru Tanase perceived the sayings by Russian Federation’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergey Lavrov about the Court’s judgment of October 9 reading allegedly that the political parties, which do not support Moldova’s European integration course, are regarded as anti-constitutional ones.

Tanase wrote in his Facebook page that in its resolution of October 9, the Constitutional Court considered the constitutionality of the EU-RM Association Agreement and of Law #112 dated July 2, 2014 on ratification of the Agreement.

“The problem of the constitutionality of parties, whose objective is not European integration, has never been considered by the Constitutional Court. This is a hundred-percent lie. The CC resolution of October 9 contained nothing of what Lavrov said”, wrote the CC Chairman.

As already reported by Infotag, on Monday Sergey Lavrov stated in Moscow, “At the current stage, the Chisinau authorities are definitely trying to move in a non-democratic direction. Take for an example the recent judgment by the Moldovan Constitutional Court, which ruled that any parties, whose aims are not integration into the European Union, are anti-constitutional ones. I was just shocked to read that news. That was an outrageous decision”.
